And with employees spanning such diverse legal and cultural landscapes, significant administrative hurdles started to arise. As Qdrant scaled to more than 15 contractors, the complexity of international hiring became a major "energy drain" for the operations team. Setting up a US subsidiary was particularly difficult, requiring tax advisers and accountants to navigate local employment laws and benefit systems, consuming critical attention from internal teams that were diverted from other priorities.
